This page explains what we can and cannot help with, and where to direct questions about official Fairfield criminal records. Most requests belong with a government office, not with us; the routing below sends each record type to the right place.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private reference site cannot retrieve official files, perform an official check, correct a government record, or accept a Connecticut erasure filing.

Need an Official Record?

Fairfield has no county sheriff, county jail, county clerk, or town criminal court. Use the office that holds the specific record:

  • Court case files: contact Superior Court G.A. 2 at 172 Golden Hill Street, Bridgeport, (203) 579-6568, or the Part A court at 1061 Main Street, (203) 579-7210
  • Criminal records and rap sheets: contact the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Division of State Police, State Police Bureau of Identification
  • Police reports: call Fairfield Police Records/Evidence at (203) 254-4800, option 1, before visiting 100 Reef Road
  • Official background checks: order through the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Division of State Police, State Police Bureau of Identification
  • Current custody: use Connecticut DOC's statewide inmate search; Fairfield operates no local jail roster
  • Registry records: use the DESPP Connecticut Sex Offender Registry or call its unit at (860) 685-8060

Fairfield Police Records/Evidence is at 100 Reef Road, Fairfield, CT 06824. Published counter hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a noon to 1:00 p.m. closure. Staffing can change hours, so call first.
